Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code is, in a way, a gift to us as Christians. It presents us with an opportunity to examine aspects of our beliefs and our church history that we often take for granted.

  • Are there secret gospels?
  • Was Jesus married?
  • Are the gospels reliable?
  • Who says Christ is divine?

The movie and book The Da Vinci Code presents a unique "dangerous opportunity" for Christians. The Danger comes in the form of misrepresentation of historical 'fact', that undermines and attacks the message of the Gospel. The Opportunity is found in the the movie's tag line, which exhorts viewers to "SEEK THE TRUTH".

In Chinese, the characters for 'danger' and 'opportunity' combine to form the word 'crisis'... we hope that the release of this movie can be used to expose a world in crisis, and to call Believers in the Gospel of Jesus Christ to action.

Lee Strobel calls the upcoming release of The Da Vinci Code movie a 'Spiritual Tsunami'. If we had known the Malaysian Tsunami was coming, we could have moved all the people in its path to higher ground.
